Air-Cooled Classic Era, Early Water-Cooled Era

Porsche 911 (996) For Sale

1999–2005

The 996, built from 1999 to 2005, was the first water-cooled 911, launching an all-new platform with a larger body and the controversial fried-egg headlights. Long the affordable entry into 911 ownership, the generation also produced the first GT3, the widow-making GT2, and a formidable Turbo with the Le Mans-derived Mezger engine — variants whose values have decisively outrun the base cars.
