The Porsche 911 GT1 was a mid-engine, water-cooled Le Mans racer that wore 911 bodywork to satisfy GT1 homologation rules while sharing little with the road car beneath the skin. Powered by a twin-turbocharged flat-six, the evolved 911 GT1-98 won the Le Mans 24 Hours outright in 1998. A tiny number of road-legal Straßenversion cars were built, making the GT1 one of the rarest and most valuable modern Porsches.
