The 987 Boxster, built from 2005 to 2012, matured the mid-engine roadster with sharper styling, a much-improved cabin, and flat-sixes up to 3.4 litres. The generation introduced the lightweight Boxster Spyder, the enthusiast pick of the era, and the post-2009 cars with direct-injection engines shed the earlier IMS worries, making them the smart-money used Porsche roadster.
